Disks but grub on windows disk.bios and grub could not find/boot from disk 3/4, so ended with a “GRUB, error: no such device: ” error.Only tried method 3, worked fine. Worth mentioning that I couldnt find backslash in therecovery windows on foreign keyboard. But no need to specifyDrive:bootBootsect.exe, as boot directory did not exist.Found bootsect.exe command somewhere on the disk, and in path so just typedbootsect /NT60 AllAlso, could not find a way to reboot computer, just shut down.

Hello,I have an odd problem odd to me. I was running servers on XenServer 6.5 and migrated over to Hyper-V Datacenter.All of my machines worked (except linux, but that’s another story). However, my main DC Controller has funny phenomena.

If I do a reboot I get a blue screen. I have to force it into safe mode with networking, login and then reboot again and it will come up fine.It appears that logging into Safe Mode clears out some kind of cached drivers, however I don’t know how to go about fixing it. I’m assuming the cached drivers are remnants of the XenServer Tools Drivers.Any idea on how to clean out old drivers and then reinstall the drivers needed? Without reinstalling the whole thing? Good tips, thanks for sharing.Had a power failure the other night. Server must have shutdown uncleanly (despite being connected to a functioning UPS), and rebooted when power resumed.Like others here, I got the Windows boot screen error. Was quite worried, as this box is the DC and Media Server for our (home) network, and it also runs Hyper-V with a few virtuals. Was not keen to have to rebuild the thing from scratch, and especially not keen to try recovering the 7Tb of data on the RAID 6 array(although I do have both a backup and an archive target).Luckily, method two worked for me, and I’m now back up and running.It would be good to find out why Windows has such poor recovery from an ungraceful shutdown, howeverAnyway, thanks again for the tips.
